Have we exhausted to potential variety of clues? I don't think so.
Riddles, compass bearings, historical info, local lore, plain old
instructions, GPS coordinates. What could be next? It occurs to me
that a really interesting clue for a very difficult box might be made
on the bearings taken from natural phenomena that vary according to
time/season such as position of the sun on the horizon or celestial
navigation type issues. I am not very familiar with such things but
it sounds interesting to me. This from me who generally makes clues
relatively simple to increase the chance people will actually search
for my boxes :-)

I believe that there are a couple of Drew Clan boxes that rely
on the aforementioned natural phenomena and a musical score......Variety is the
spice of life!!!

The Cadillac Mountain Letterbox in Maine has a
number of clues related to the sun, including one that references its angle of
elevation on a given date.

How about a set of logic clues--solve the logic
statements and that would tell you to go to A or B next. Or use math word
problems for distances or in the same manner as the logic ones. Cowpost--getting
some ideas here!

One of our boxes requires you to determine three compass bearings and
find where they intersect - another way of using a compass.
